… who once pushed open a door that had heavy weights against it, to wake her oversleeping owner. You might think it was about food but … it wasn’t.
Here is a Woman with a Cat, Auguste Renoir, 1875.

Here is Julie Manet Holding a Cat by Berthe Morisot, 1889, printed by someone else in 1921.

Julie Manet was the child of Bertha Morisot and Eugene Manet (brother of the painter, Edward Manet). Julie sat for a portrait by Renoir, which is at the Musee d’Orsay. https://www.musee-orsay.fr/en/artworks/julie-manet-100382 I can’t find copyright information so go look there. I like the expression on Julie’s face in this sketch better than in the actual portrait.

If you do a search at the National Gallery of Art with word ”cat” you will get, among other things, a cat boat (lovely), a catfish, a catbird, the artist Jacob Cats, and a plant called cats’ paw. Also, people playing cat’s cradle. Plus …

An early attempt at movies.
Plate 720. Cat; galloping by Eadweard Muybridge, 1885
The picture titled Lovesick Cat shows a cat on a tiled roof, with other roofs around. He’s tiny compared to his surroundings. It’s a very funny and endearing picture but definitely cannot be reproduced here. https://www.nga.gov/artworks/48691-lovesick-cat
