I went to an old-fashioned Power Show last week. I spent four days in the car and four days not in the car with seven other people. We stayed in an apartment above a diner on Main Street, in a town of about 5,000 people. The apartment was very long and narrow, with skylights to bring illumination to the central section. I liked being able to walk to the grocery store and the fabric store and the coffee shop. I didn’t totally like the 23 steps up to the apartment and back down again!

The wheels on this harvester are lovely.

Here, the engine on wheels is running the water pump. For demonstration purposes, the water is being recycled into the box and then back up through the pump.

Below is an ancient sock knitting machine. The needles for the knitting can be seen in the middle of the picture. The tube with a square cutout and numbers on it is where the sock appears as it is knitted. Then it falls to the ground! There are some very dirty cones of black thread against the right wall. The yellow bar against the back wall is hooked up to an engine outside the shed providing power. On the right side of the sock machine there is a large wheel with a belt that goes back to the yellow bar (unfortunately out of sight). That’s the driver. The poles on the top of the machine are for yarn. A bit is visible.
