I took this picture in Iowa a few weeks ago. Forty years ago this entire church was ALL painted white or cream. All of that delicate detail below was obscured and barely noticeable. Obviously the shapes were still present, but when a renovation was done a few years ago, the church was revealed as it had been. Built in a town that has never had more than a thousand people living there, it was, and now is again, a testament to serious ideas about worship and its intersection with beauty. Enjoy the details!
