Birds and other topics

I was sent this picture to post if I wanted to. It’s a Baltimore Oriole, and I love the photo. Once I was watching a cardinal and wondering idly how such bright red birds were able to vanish. The cardinal turned and I saw how the sudden dull red on its back allowed it to blend instantly into the landscape. It fooled my eye because I was still looking for the bright color. The oriole shows something similar here. That yellow color is going to look like a flash of sunlight and the bird will disappear when it moves. Such fun!

I have made a chalice veil and need to sew up the place where I turned it right side out. I’m making a stole but have barely started.

I’ve read a lot of stuff both good and bad recently. Some of the bad is from an author who wrote at least 30 books in mid-20th century England. She’s always recommended when I look at D. E. Stevenson books. She’s not in the same class, in my humble opinion, but I’ve been trying to understand why she’s popular. No names because why encourage anyone to think she’s worth it. Just read Stevenson if you are looking for a peaceful book.
