No power this morning for a bit. No power yesterday afternoon. We are having a lot of rain, and random wind, and tornadoes in the area. In between times everything is green and light, but not sunny.
I found a gem on Project Gutenberg, an illustrated version of Pride and Prejudice. https://www.gutenberg.org/cache/epub/1342/pg1342-images.html It was published in 1894. The artist, named Hugh Thomson, did general illustrations and illuminated capital letters. I absolutely loved these pictures so here are a few.

The militia coming to the dance in Meryton.

There are three pictures of the Gardiner children. This one is at their home when Jane goes to visit.

The children are mentioned three times and get their own picture each time. It’s amazing because it gives them a weight that the written word did not.

The Gardiner children at the Bennet house when the Gardiners return unexpectedly.
Many illustrations of messages and letters …

Random initial letters. They can’t be blown up further because they formatted as PNG which seems to mean fixed pixel.
