I ended up with a lot of arthritis pain, visited the doctor, and got distracted. So a few random comments today.
First — a lovely quote
“Man is not a mind that thinks, but a being who know other beings as true, who loves them as good, and who enjoys them as beautiful.”
from Etienne Gilson whom I have never read.
I saw the quote in a comment on an irrelevant article. Google says Gilson was a French philosopher and historian of philosopher. He founded the Pontifical Institute of Medieval Studies…
Next, one of the blogs that I occasionally check (DarwinCatholic), always links to “Dr. Boli’s” website. This poem is extremely funny. Dante compared himself to Aeneas, the traveler, so knowledge of the Aeneid is good for reading the Divine Comedy.

I am working on a third trial of a pattern for a Borromeo/Neri vestment. So far one of the things I have discovered is that using a cheap needle is unhelpful. I changed out the needle on my sewing machine because people say that it’s very important to have a fresh needle, when working on really expensive fabric. (Which I am not doing yet, still practicing…) But the new needle is horrid and my thread broke three times while I was attaching the gold edging to that rectangle. So very slow progress. Ugh, and it’s puckered. Good thing I’m still practicing.

A few lovely Bible verses.
…the morning stars sang together And all the sons of God shouted for joy… (Job 38:7)
“He counts the number of the stars; He gives names to all of them. (Psalm 147:4)
Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever. (Daniel 12:3)
I’m still watching for news of the super brightening of T Corona Borealis, any moment now … any moment … between March and September, 2024.
