Two fun reads…

… this week. Plus an update.

Diane Tucker has a website called The Shy Museumgoer. I happen to love museums and am not shy about them, but never mind. She has gorgeous pictures on her website, and she wrote an article about Saint Joseph in November.

(I hope you don’t get some annoying deal asking for money at the Crux website…)

If you are following the story of the deacon’s new stole, it has been tried on, and it is four inches too long, according to the way the recipient will use it. That is, he wants it to match the end of a surplice, while I made it thinking about albs. My wonderful sewing mentor anticipated this length problem, but we couldn’t think of a solution that didn’t involve hundred dollar charges for FedEx to send the stole to Philadelphia and back, overnight. So we just checked when the gentleman showed up. I’ll rip out four inches of stitching, cut off the extra, and then miter and hem the end. I still have ten days and that will only take one. Whew!

If you want to look at interesting liturgical fabrics, here’s a URL. These people have wonderful customer service. I’ve also included a shot below of a gorgeous fabric that I will not be using for obvious reasons …
